Youth Education

Our Pre-K to 12 Helen and Sam Kornblau Religious School is dedicated to educating students in the spiritual, ritual, and ethical foundations of the Jewish religion following the tenets of egalitarian Conservative Judaism in a caring environment.

Through a variety of engaging teaching methods, Or Atid students become passionate about Jewish heritage, language, and Mitzvot, enthusiastically sharing their love and knowledge of Judaism and its continuity.

Machon and Madrichim

Our Machon program is for students in 8th -12th grade. Every other Sunday, students join together with Rabbi Hal to explore contemporary subjects and themes from a Jewish perspective. Classes include specialty workshops focused on Jewish art and cooking.

Our high school students have the opportunity to serve as Madrichim (student teachers). By attending a class specifically designed for them, Madrichim learn to:

  • Provide hands-on classroom assistance
  • Gain valuable classroom management skills
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring
  • Gain confidence and ease in front of a group
  • Continue their Jewish education
  • Serve as role models for younger students
