What is the Jewish Middle School Community?
 

The JMC (Jewish Middle School Community) is a vibrant group where Jewish middle schoolers (grades 6-8) and their parents in Richmond can connect and build strong bonds. Our activities blend Jewish ideas with fun, creating opportunities for Jewish kids to get to know one another and connect as part of a broader Richmond community.

The Jewish Middle School Community (JMC) is made possible by a generous grant from the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and is coordinated by Congregation Or Atid.  If you are interested in learning more or would like to be on our mailing list, please email rkline@oratid.org.  

2026 Events and Registration


First Time Registration for all JMC 2026 Events

January 25, 2026:  Jump, Play & Explore Together at Surge Adventure Park
Join old and new Jewish friends in an afternoon of fun.  This event is co-sponsored by the JMC and the Weinstein JCC's Ruach and Recreation program.  Participants will need to fill out a Waiver form.  The form will be emailed prior to the event. 

Time:  1:15 - 3:30 pm

February 22, 2026:  Challah, Hot Chocolate, and Butterflies
Come and make Challah, and enjoy some yummy hot chocolate.  While we wait for the Challah to bake we will also paint butterflies for the Butterfly project in memory of a child who perished in the Holocaust.   Click here to learn more about the Butterfly Project.  All food will be made in a Kosher kitchen.

March 22, 2026:  Bowling & Friends: A Jewish Middle School Meetup
Get ready to roll! Jewish middle school students are invited to a bowling get-together full of friendly competition, laughter, and community spirit. Bring your bowling skills—and your energy—for a great time with friends. This event is co-sponsored by the JMC and the Weinstein JCC's Ruach and Recreation program. 

Time:  2:00-4:00 pm

Cost:  $10.00 per participant, Optional transportation from the JCC - $5.00

April 19, 2026:  Mini-Golf:  Fairways, Friends & Jewish Fun
Join your Jewish friends for a relaxed and exciting game of mini golf, plenty of laughs, and great time together.  Grab your putter and come spend the afternoon with us—it’s going to be a par-tee!
