UPCOMING EVENTS

  • Register for Global Day of Jewish Learning @ Weinstein JCC (11/17/2019)  The Global Day of Jewish Learning (GDJL) is a project where hundreds of communities worldwide will be gathering on this day to share Jewish learning opportunities.  The theme for this year is "Speaking Volumes"-- from ancient arguments to modern meanings, from raising our voices to remaining silent, explore how and why words matter.  This community-driven day of learning will take place on Sunday, November 17 from 2:00 - 4:30 PM and will showcase many learning opportunities for participants and families. Choose from a menu of learning experiences facilitated by our community rabbis and educators, including our own Rabbi Hal, as the Richmond Jewish community gathers to connect and learn. The event is free and open to the public.

  • Register for "Roots Dialogue" at Temple Beth El (11/18/2019)  Monday, November 18, 7pm at Temple Beth El: An Israeli settler and a Palestinian activist in dialogue, presented by Roots, a grassroots movement fostering understanding, nonviolence and transformation among Israelis and Palestinians. Come hear first-hand from Shadi Abu Awwad, the ROOTS Palestinian youth director, and Rabbi Hanan Schlesinger, one of the founders of ROOTS, as they share their stories and present the work of their initiative. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Register for Greenwood Presentation (12/08/2019) All are invited to “What happens when we die,” on December 8th at 2:00 PM, a concise presentation on the cost of a burial and the many advantages of prearrangements (including being less expensive and saving the living mourner the stress of decision-making). No metaphysical questions or discussions of rituals and traditions, just a conversation about current costs and future costs, with a bonus of a limited-time special discount and special payment terms.
Greenwood Memorial Gardens will be providing refreshments (dietary laws observed). Register by December 3rd or visit our website or call the office. Representatives from Greenwood will be in attendance for additional questions and concerns.

  • Register for Community Mission Trip to Israel on 4/21/2020-4/30/2020 Don't forget to register to come with our Congregation as we travel with the Richmond Community Mission Trip to Israel.  It's a trip of a lifetime, it's practically a bargain, and you don't want to miss out.  This event promises to be one you'll never regret or forget.
